About Us!

 

Hello! I am Anu Bidani, Founder and President of Inno-Hive, an Innovative Learning Community. I launched Inno-Hive as a grass root charity to support skill building in our communities. After a successful corporate career I recognized how important it is for us to support our youth, who are the future leaders, in ensuring they build relevant skills to thrive and solve the problems and challenges of the world.

Technology is having a profound impact on the jobs of today and tomorrow. Many young people feel they have not been prepared for the new economy and jobs.

I am on a mission to solve this challenge by working with community leaders and technology partners to offer introductory level workshops and courses so youth can explore technolgy related skills and explore their passion.

I am proudly supported in this mission by a great team of passionate board of directors and community leaders.

Director and Treasurer

Theresa Martin is the Co-Founder of Willington Martin CPAs, a professional accounting firm.  In her role as Managing Partner, she assists clients reach their personal and business success through planning, advisory and compliance.  Theresa has advised clients over twenty plus years through purchase and sale, incorporation, system conversion and testing, tax planning optimization and various other financial, tax and accounting matters.  She has contributed as a team member on many joint projects.

Previously, Theresa worked in advancing accounting roles within private industry where she learned to balance hard work, family life and educational pursuits in the early days of her career and raising a family.  She obtained her CGA degree in 1988 and CPA degree in 2017.  She completed numerous continuing education courses voluntarily and exceeded professional association requirements annually. 

As an active volunteer Theresa has held the roles of Treasurer, Chair and committee member, for most of her professional career.  In these roles, she fostered her leadership and communication skills, learned the value of teamwork and gained significant wide-ranging experience. 

As a member of the Executive Board my goal is to be a voice for those who are not heard.  To provide learning opportunities otherwise inaccessible.   To build confidence through knowledge.

My personal interests include having fun with family and friends.  I enjoy travelling, walking amongst tall trees while taking in the beauty of nature, and great conversation.  Lake activities such as swimming and kayaking are personal favorites.  Reading is right up there too.  With three to four books on the go at a time, I read novels, biographies, and books or journals on health-related issues. Lastly, when time permits, discovering new plant-based recipes allows me to focus on good health while trying new things.  And I can make a small contribution to saving this wonderful planet we call home. 

 

Director and Secretary

Giselle Belo was born and raised on the twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, a Caribbean country well known for its cultural diversity.

Giselle graduated from Centennial College with a Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Administration and later graduated from Seneca College with a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management.

Giselle spent an extensive part of her professional life in the Hotel Industry both in the Caribbean and in Canada. Working first as an Operations Assistant, Giselle eventually advanced to the senior positions of Assistant Restaurant Manager and Human Resource Manager.

While professional life fulfilled her immensely, Giselle decided to stay at home to take care of her daughter when she became a mother. Giselle opened a home daycare under a licenced agency.  It was an exhilarating and learning experience and the portfolio as a child care provider enhanced her management skills.

Giselle is currently working in the insurance industry as an Assistant Underwriter in the Commercial Lines department.

Giselle volunteers at her daughter’s school and the community church assisting in various ministries.

Director and Nomination Committee

Hilda Gan is the Founder and Chief People Officer of People Bright Consulting, a full-service Human Resources Consulting firm. A diverse career, Hilda started her career in health care as a nurse a later spent time in the IT and Engineering Industries. Hilda is a wealth of knowledge and support, providing a pragmatic business solutions approach to her HR strategic expertise.

She created the Connect with REVUP™ Program to help organizations build stronger teams, managers and work cultures through training, mentoring and coaching. Based on the successes of iTRANS, the program provides a proven roadmap to develop the confidence to lead, motivate and inspire their teams.

A serial entrepreneur, she has built four companies – in Healthcare, HR, Management Consulting, and with her husband, iTRANS Consulting, an award-winning, national Engineering consulting firm that was recognized as a Best Workplaces in Canada® – top ten twice and a finalist in Canada’s Best Managed Companies. She was recognized by the BWNYR for her work in promoting HR literacy to the Businesses and most recently as a Finalist in the Richmond Hill Board of Trade’s Business Achievement Award for 2021 for the company’s ability to PIVOT during COVID-19.

Hilda has volunteered on many boards, including executive roles of the Board. These include the Markham Stouffville Hospital Board, United Way of York Region and the Unionville Home Society. She has also sat on Committees for TRIEC, University of Toronto Faculty of Engineer and the Ontario Nursing Informatics Group.

She is excited to be joining the Board of Inno-Hive. She is married, with three children and lives in Markham. She enjoys hiking, swimming and ballet, helping others and giving back to the Community.

Yash Bidani is an accomplished and highly motivated financial services professional with over 20 years of progressive experience in successfully driving sales and profitability through product development and focused service delivery to clients. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate prospecting opportunities into tangible sales and retain asset growth. His talent will help drive outreach and connections with community leaders for growth of Inno-Hive

Ex-Officio

Helga Sirola has worked with Inno-Hive since October 2020, helping us with the strategic direction, governance and structuring of the organization.

Helga has an extensive background in non for profit and is also currently the Executive Director at the Learning Disabilities Association of York Region.

In her role Helga has:

  • ensured that the Mission Statement of the agency is promoted through the services provided;
  • ensured consistent application of practices and policies as they relate to service provision and best practices;
  • guided us in the strategic and diversity planning;

Helga has a background in Child Development and Education as well as a Human Resources Management Degree.

Helga is also received a Certificate from York Entrepreneurship Development Institute for Non-for-Profit Program for Entrepreneurship Development (2015), she was also the first recipient for the Bhayana Family Foundation Award for leadership trough the United Way of Toronto-York Region (2013).
